Review of Run Lola Run (1998) by Luke P — 26 Jan 2010
Run Lola Run is an effortlessly cool and stylish film, that combines the style and vigour of European cinema with the action of a Hollywood blockbuster. Frenetically paced, the film never lets up for a second.
It's cleverly crafted and perfectly paced, while director Tom Tykwer (whose since gone on to Hollywood with Perfume and The International) keeps things visually interesting, using every trick in his repertoire to keep us hooked to the screen.
A pumping techno soundtrack runs throughout, keeping the feeling of non-stop motion going, while theres a streak of humour and cleverness running through it's core. A very cool, very hip film. The kind of foreign film thats it's ok to like.
