Review of Run Lola Run (1998) by Amina I — 22 Apr 2013
One of my favorite movies: made me a fan of Franke Potente- love her flaming red hair as she runs across the city streets up and down staircases, hopping over obstacles- all to a frenetic pulsing beat - love the soundtrack- bought it after seeing the movie twice in NY in 1999.
I wore out that cd- I played the crap out of it. Imagine my dismay and disgust when I was watching tv back in 2001, before forwarding on a DVR was common, a tampon commercial comes on and a couple of teeny boppers are smiling and twirling around showing their tampons aren't falling out- all to the music from Run Lola Run! I couldn't believe the group sold out to a female hygiene product .
They could have at least picked a less embarrassing product to sell out to. Now every time I hear the main song(played at the beginning sequence) I think tampons . Thank goodness the rest of the soundtrack is just as stellar.
