Review of Rumble Fish (1983) by Jerard W — 21 Mar 2009
A very stylish film but the writing of the characters and story made the black and white look more of a distraction then an enhancement. Key moments when you want to see Rusty's face to see his pain or jubilation gets blacked-out.
If the look of the film complemented rather than compete with the writing this would have been a masterpiece (Sin City) but here this has a feeling of a gimmick than an actual component to the film.
