Review of Rumble Fish (1983) by Anthony K — 23 Jun 2013
Wasn't sure what to expect. Turned out to be a stark film noir if only faux, highly stylized with shadows, mist & exaggerated characters. While it was depressing, it was enjoyable for the intense style & atmosphere applied by Coppola.
Dylans character was authentically weak, Mickey Rourke could have been playing himself. While uncomfortable to watch, I finally enjoyed it. Might have loved it as a romantic, carefree adolescent, but not now.
