Review of Rudy (1993) by Ryan G — 08 Nov 2013
Occasionally a sports story comes along that transcends time. Springbok Rugby uniting South Africa against the all conquering All Blacks at the 1995 World Cup. Chris Paul scoring 63 points in a high school game for his grandfather, days after he was murdered. James Braddock defeating Max Baer for the Heavyweight Championship in 1935 as a 10-1 underdog.
Rudy is right at the top of this list. Its a story that encapsulates the American Dream, but more importantly, the resilience of the human spirit. Without any Hollywood script doctor needed, the gritty authenticity and dogged determination will win you over. :).
