Ruby in Paradise is a slice of life movie. With no big action scenes and zero special effects, Ruby in Paradise instead largely focuses on dialogue and characters. The main character, Ruby is a small town girl working in retail, someone the audience can relate to.
The dialogue is very conversational and packed full of southern expressions, making it super easy to follow and believe. Each moment in the film could have been taken straight out of somebody’s real life.
An incredibly intimate and personal film, Ruby in Paradise invites you into the movie as a stranger, but you leave as a close friend.
