Review of Rubber (2010) by Jeremy S — 08 Jul 2011
A bizarre little movie about a killer tire. To be honest, if they just went for a straight-up splatterific B-movie, it would have been golden. Instead, they tried to get all meta and artsy fartsy on us.
Existentialism can be nice and fun while you're in a community college Philosophy 101 class, but it kinda falls apart as soon as you get back to the real world. A missed opportunity - a rare movie where being trashy and cheap (in the style of early Peter Jackson/Sam Raimi) would've produced better results.
