Definitely way too obviously self-aware for its own good. It really goes against everything that's great about quirky B-movies and comes off as a preening, sorta-pretentious disaster. It's a neat concept for like the first 3 minutes, but all the fun is sucked out of it with all the faux-intellectual posturing.
