Review of Rubber (2010) by Peter A — 07 Oct 2011
Absurd? sure. Inventive and imaginative? Absolutely. A story of a killer tyre that goes on the rampage in the American desert is as much a patiche on film making and us the audience as it is on schlock gore horror fests.
Referencing The Texas Chain Saw massacre the tyre, called Robert, for some reason takes a dislike to all living things and uses a 'psycho-kinetic' energy to kill them. Laughable and humourous, this will also make you think about how much you should suspend your disbelief.
A lot in this case. The ending suggests a sequel and yes I'd watch it.
