Review of Rubber (2010) by Adam S — 22 Apr 2013
The quixotic and laughable idea (which is completely bizarre) is what I found most appealing about this movie. Some call the idea unique - I call it 'nobody else is dense enough to consider it'.
The trailer had more depth to the story than the film did! For instance; the trailer states the tire is named 'Robert', that information is not displayed at any point during the film. And, the trailer claims that the tire is in love with a female - even though that isn't made clear at any point.
And, the ridiculous ending indicates there'll be a sequel - which is pretty much impossible due to the fact it made no profit. So no producer would allow it... But in-spite all of this, it's still.... Entertaining - on the basis that it's quite humorous and doesn't take it's self seriously.
