Review of Rubber (1936) by Michael R — 29 Feb 2012
French DJ turned director Quentin Dupieux (aka Mr. Oizo) churns out this hilarious flick about a murderous tire with psychokinetic powers that goes on a rampage blowing up bottles, animals and even people out in the dessert while a group of spectators view the carnage through binoculars.
The opening diolgue, which poses qurstions such as "In Tobey Cooper's excellent Texas Chainsaw Massacre, why don't any of the characters go to thr bathroom or wash their hands?" sets the stage for a series of "no reasons.
" Amazing, very overlooked film.
