Review of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (1991) by Kristen W — 17 Nov 2006
Well, this movie was quite cool. It faltered at times but was quite cool at other times. I was confused by it at times, I've read that people who know Hamlet backwards and forwards can really appreciate this film.
Given the fact that I got a piss poor education in the classics of literature, I could only wonder how much more I would have enjoyed this had I been one of the aforementioned individuals. Let me also state that Gary Oldman(grrr baby) and Tim Roth were quite wonderful together and the tennis match questions game they played was so intriguing that I rewound and watched it 3 times, then found the dialogue and watched it again.
