Review of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (1991) by Turbolaser G — 25 Aug 2007
Stoppard's script is unmatched by any literary or cinematic work written. His adaptation of his own work is beautifully done, causing the script to seem as though it were originally made for the screen.
Likewise, his choice of actors is absolute perfection. He could not have picked a more accurate Rosencrantz & Guildenstern pair. Roth and Oldman play up and off of each other in a way so poised yet effervescent that their relationship with each other seems very.
..instinctive. Richard Dreyfuss is also at his finest, delivering excellent foil to the Shakespearean duo. This is the perfect script acted by the greatest actors of all time and by far my favourite movie.
