Review of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (1991) by Craig F — 28 Jan 2008
Succeeds partially on the performances of the three male leads and Stoppard's magnificent source material, but it could have been amazing, and it isn't. The music/score and sound effects in particular are outrageously and distractingly bad.
All of the best parts of the play make it to the film intact, but it really does drag in some spots. I'd rather read the play.
