Review of Rope (1948) by Pete B — 04 May 2009
My favorite Alfred Hichcock film. Sinister, twisted, and filled with dark comic moments. Other than Harvey my favorite Jimmy Stewart film. Its a story of two Upper class young adults trying to not only get away with murder but commit the crime with flare.
The film takes place in one apartment which in most other cases would limit a film, but the great dialouge and tension keeps the story moveing. This film is yet another proof of how ahead of his time Hichcock was with his diabolical mind that disturbed many in his day but would be cherished nowaday by so many jaded film goers.
