Review of Rope (1948) by Ankur M — 17 Aug 2011
An OK Hitchcock thriller. Granger and Dall are two college buddies, who decide on planning the perfect murder. So when they finally decide to, the strangle a classmate and stuff him in a trunk, where they're planning on having the party.
The only problem is, the party is for David, the victim. The party's very awkward because of the fact that David isn't there, and when a teacher (Stewart) see's his students weird actions, he has a increasing suspicion that something bad happened to David, and they had something to do with it.
The movie's unique, because along with "Rear Window" and "Dial M for Murder" the setting stays in the one room the entire time, yet it stays interesting. This movie is filled with suspense and many tense moments, and like Hitchcock always does, not rush it, and let the story flow.
However, this is really a movie for mega Hitch fans, so, if you want to see an awesome Hitch movie, watch "Notorious".
