Review of Rope (1948) by Chris W — 29 Oct 2008
In a word: stunning. There's essentially nothing wrong with this film, and basically everything right, especially: the innovative and great as usual direction, the riveting performances, the experimental 'play-like' nature of the film, the camerawork, and the multi-layered dialogue wth tons of double-meanings.
Check this one out. It's not too long, shot in real-time, and gripping the entire way through.
