Review of Rope (1948) by Samantha S — 29 Jul 2009
Good Hitchcock. Farley Granger was very handsome at this time! It's based on the Leopold-Loeb murders and it's more compelling than the Preminger version with Dean Stockwell - however it's not nearly as deep.
James Stewart is always likeable and in this case, the only one "intelligent enough" to figure out what's going on. Well worth seeing.
