Rarely does a drama come along that keeps you on the edge of your seat even though it isn't a triller or a suspense film. This is more on the edge because of the emotions that are happening and how everything is developing how it is that you become so involved in the characters and their well being. Room is a rare movie that is almost perfect. It has spectacular acting on all fronts but mostly I have to say that Jacob Tremblay is the best even of the year. He's a 9 year old (8 at the time of filming) that already has the range of Leonardo DiCaprio. He is able to show how confusing it is to be born in captivity and all of a sudden thrown into the world and having to save his mom. The fear and confusion is vividly shown from him and it makes you feel and think about the feeling. Brie Larson also has such strength in showing a mother wanting to protect her child but how hard it is to also comprehend being back in the world and processing everything that happened.

The movie is beautifully made and for almost two hours you don't even realize that you're watching a movie. It's finely made with a great cast and a director who knows how to get the camera to do all the right things. The only complaint I would have is the lack of use of William H Macy. He's a fine actor to be in only about five minutes. It's not a deal breaker whatsoever just a little thing that I thought about after. This movie is a roller coaster of emotions so be prepared.
