Room is outstanding. You will feel the full range of emotions - from fear, tension, and disgust to love, hope, and joy. Brie Larson's Oscar win is well-deserved, but I actually think the surprisingly nuanced performance of young Jacob Tremblay steals the show -- it might have been the best performance I saw in any movie all year. I don't want to say too much about the story (don't watch the trailer - it gives away more plot than it should), but it was particularly gut-wrenching at times for me as a parent of a 5-year-old.
Grade: A+.
