Review of Room (2015) by Tom B — 16 Oct 2018
The Oscar winning captivity drama that is NOT Tommy Wiseau's infamous worst movie of all time. Bearing in mind, all the negative associations that can be made when the solo word "ROOM" is furnished in a production title, it's an understatement to say giving it this name was a giant risk.
Luckily for this ROOM, instead of plummeting under the radar, it received the upper hand at recognition time and was critically acclaimed with 137 commendable awards. From my standpoint, ROOM provides a five-star first owl with captivating ingenuity, suspense, and performances - well worth the commendation it received; however, the second hour is an absolute sleeper that utterly wipes out it's repute by delineating the aftermath of captivity trauma with boring realism instead of entertainment.
