Review of Room (2015) by Elijah L — 04 Jun 2016
Despite being lead by a terrific performance from Brie Larson, Room prioritises drama over realism. The characters seem to instantly forget that Joy was missing and presumed dead for 7 years whilst she went through one of the most horrific things possible.
They express frustration with her as they unrealistically prioritise their own interests, purely for the sake of more conflict and drama. Despite this, Room is a good watch for the exquisite performances alone, particularly from Larson, who completely carries this film.
