Astoundingly beautiful and powerful with two incredible central performances. The film explored a variety of aspects of the impact such a devastating event would have on a whole family and it felt completely true and real.
It had so many ideas around fairy tales and yet was also bleak and grey and ever so present in the actual reality. I also appreciated that the choice to cut the film in half between before and after actually removed a lot of the tension of the first half and yet the second half brought potentially even more emotional depth to the film.
Just stunning.
