Review of Room (2015) by Ydnar4 — 26 Dec 2015
Room is one of the most brilliant ambitious films that I have ever seen. Very few films can take a premise like this and completely run with the ball. The story is very intriguing throughout and the characters are easy to love because they are in such a difficult spot.
The acting is outstanding. Brie Larson finally shows the world that she is a leading woman after spending several years in the supporting cast of films like 21 Jump Street and Trainwreck. Larson is undeniably likeable and brings such realism to her role.
It will be interesting to see what her next projects will be. Then you got Jacob Tremblay, who delivers one of the best performances I have seen from a child in all of film. Tremblay's character Jack is an imaginative, and curious young boy and he portrays that beautifully as well as bringing a sense of innocence to the young character.
Room will certainly get some attention at Oscar time for the Screenplay, Acting and possibly Best Picture.
