Review of Ronin (1998) by Gerry C — 07 Feb 2009
It's a great spy thriller with a wide cast of talented actors. What may piss some people off though is that Ronin takes principal use of the McGuffin tool; here it is the mysterious case that has everyone scrambling over themselves to get and whose contents are never revealed to the audience.
Do realize that the case is a classic McGuffin: the case is of no importance, it is how it affects the characters that is. Ronin has got some great action scenes (and one hell of an amazing car chase sequence), along with enough espionage intrigue to keep us interested.
Big thumbs up from me.
