Review of Ronin (1998) by Alex C — 17 Aug 2009
Nice piece of filmmaking here, but the story leaves something to be desired. I spent a lot of time going, "Wait--why? Who's th--what?" But it sure was riveting, what with car chases and broad-daylight shoot-outs all over France.
Also, for some reason, the copy I have doesn't include subtitles, so I spent a lot of time trying to decipher the French (which I'm learning), and half the time I couldn't because the actors mumbled a lot.
Definitely a cool film, though--DeNiro and Jean Reno are both great here.
