Review of Romulus, My Father (2007) by Veronica S — 19 Sep 2007
An immigrant broken family struggles to survive in the rural outback, mostly shown through the perspective of a young son wedged between the conflict of his mentally ill father and emotionally/financially dependent mother.
brutal, depressing, with some very heart-breaking situations that make you go, "why!" kodi smit-mcphee is phenomenal in his first role, somebody to keep an eye on. if you can stomach brutality and depression, this one's for you.
