Review of Romeo Is Bleeding (1993) by Steffigy? — 18 Jun 2008
This is such an under-rated film. Romeo is bleeding is an intense, gritty, sexy, sleazy and, well, just plain brilliant work. I consider it flawed, but maybe perfectly so. It is anti Hollywood in many ways, maybe by nodding (head banging, actually) to film noir, a seemingly forgotten but surely missed genre.
At least, this is what film noir is supposed to be. The Black Dahlia? Pffft. Garbage! It is little gems like this that revive my interest in movie viewing.
