Synopsis: When a reclusive romance writer -- whose humdrum life in no way resembles the exploits of her fiery fictional heroines -- learns her sister's been kidnapped, she's soon embroiled in a wild adventure involving hidden treasure and a dashing mercenary.

Romancing the Stone at it's heart is a Raiders of The Lost Ark rip-off, but when it's this good, no-one cares. It's lighthearted, adventurous, romantic, well produced and fast paced. The picture takes full advantage of it's setting, as there truly is a great atmosphere that allows for plenty of laughs and interesting situations.

Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas have fantastic chemistry together and Danny Da Vito plays an easy to like villain to perfection.

With such fun performances from his actors, Robert Zemeckis has directed a fun action flick that is every bit as good as the Raiders pictures.
