Review of Romancing the Stone (1984) by Adam K — 18 May 2014
For its time, its certainly an entertaining adventure film that helped boost the career of a pre-Back to the Future Robert Zemeckis. Michael Douglas is great as Jack Colton and while Kathleen Turner does the whole bored damsel finding adventure bit decently, she does come off as a bit of a drag at times.
Alfonso Arau certainly has some of the best moments in the film and while it surely finds entertainment in the right places, it seems to play a little more on the ridiculous side around its ending.
