Review of Romance & Cigarettes (2005) by Kenneth D — 04 Mar 2008
This little puppy was poetic and trashy. Oh, and did you know it was a musical? That's right, a musical directed by John Turturro, produced by the Coen brothers and starring Kate Winslett, James Gandolfini, Mandy Moore, Susasn Sarandon, and Steve Buscemi.
And although, at no point did the movie actually "move" me in anyway...it was still really enjoyable to watch. There are some of the crudest lines you'll ever hear coming out a non-pornographic film, a trio of half retarded horny sisters, and Fryburg: the neighborhood Air Supply singing, Richard Gere loving, self-absorbed heart throb who has probably one of the more memorable lines in the movie: "I want to make out with every member of your family.
