Review of Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired (2008) by Clare W — 14 Jun 2009
The interesting thing about this documentary is that it steers away from any attempt to assign blame in the Polanski case and instead focuses on portraying the miscarriages of justice relating to the trial and through this the corruption of justice by celebrity.
Though well aware of the case, I hadn't known about these problems with the trial prior to seeing this so found it enlightening when it came to that. As film shows (to those who weren't well aware of it) Polanski is clearly one of the most talented filmmakers out there but he is also a very troubled man who's more than a little dodgy.
The use of the music from Rosemary's Baby is also downright creepy..
