Review of Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired (2008) by Ryan O — 01 Jan 2011
A frills free, yet interesting documentary centering on Polanski's criminal sex act and fiasco of a trail that followed. Full of detailed interviews from lawyers, detectives, filmmakers, friends of Polanski and the victim herself; Polanski himself is notably and understandably absent.
The film could have benefited greatly narrator as the typing of title cards gets tiresome quickly. The film doesn't seem to admire or abhor Polanski too much but it's the justice system that is in this documentary's crosshairs.
