The title character of this movie IS the movie, which is both its strength and fatal flaw. Strength as Denzel Washington is absolutely stellar as the purer than pure attorney confronting his demons. Flaw as there isn't much in storytelling besides finding new ways of getting Washington to shine. Early in the movie, a great underlying message, one of true fight against systemic injustice, feels forgotten along the way, when it should have stayed front and center.
In summary, a movie built around its star, with a star ending up outshining it a bit much.
