If it was in Italian and didn't have Audrey Hepburn as a princess nor the 20 first minutes,I would've though this was directed by Fellini,because this reminded me a lot of I Vitelloni or La Dolce Vita,it's quite a charming and fun film to watch,and Audrey Hepburn is superb.
