Review of Roma (2018) by Jimmy L — 15 Dec 2018
Itï¿ 1/2(TM)s not an easy movie to watch, the pace is uncomfortably slow at the beginning ï¿ 1/2" but wow, what beauty and intensity as the vignettes move along. In addition to the masterful camera work, the sound editing is incredibly rich and sublime.
I feel badly for the few reviewers that have panned the film as boring or a ï¿ 1/2complete waste of timeï¿ 1/2Â?. These poor folks have no heart, no soul, no ability to feel empathy.
On the other hand, it is remarkable that vast audiences around the world have been moved by this beautiful movie.
Finally, what a joy to see Yalitza Aparicio (Cleo) emerge from obscurity (and poverty) to the pinnacle of cinematic achievement.
