Review of Roma (2018) by Duckhost — 18 Feb 2019
When I first heard of Roma I thought it was going to be just another oscar bait and a boring movie, I was far from wrong. This movie is great especially the photography that Cuarón did. First of all Cleo is a great protagonist, this movie just deals with the contemporary lives of the family she is there as a maid to witness it.
The movie starts a little slow but when Cleo discovers that she is pregnant the movie starts to pick up the pace and just scene after scene is a wonder to behold. There is a scene during a protest that is just a marvelous thing to behold, there are dozens of extras on multiple biuldings and streets but the scene just comes out so good that you just keep thinking: ''How the **** did so many people ended up doing this and not a single mistake?''.
The final moments of the movie are so great and something happens with Cleo that you cry with her. Cuarón did a good job telling his childhood stories, this movies just tell the story of a common family and you can relate to them, hell even I did.
This is my favourite for the best movie category and the best movie that I saw from 2018.
