Review of Roma (2018) by Hector V — 12 Dec 2018
In collaboration with Netflix, Alfonso Cuarón has graced me with a film I've spent years looking for in 'Roma,' a melancholy, masterfully moving portrait of loneliness that pays tribute to the streets, beaches, and homes of Mexico with unparalleled heart and sincerity.
On top of pulling all sorts of heavy lifting producing, editing, shooting, writing, and directing the ever-loving joy out of his actors with all sorts of tricks including intentional misdirection and withholding script use, Cuarón's experimental techniques elevate his film to new cinematic heights.
