A film that deserves more attention as a true, artful classic of dystopian science fiction cinema. james caan gives an impressively understated performance, and norman jewison doesn't give in to the temptation to make this a shallow, action-packed piece of nothing.
in fact, it took 27 years and an aging john mctiernan to turn the stuff into exactly that...
