This movie is not that great. James Caan plays a Rollerball player who gets bigger than the game itself. Just think Michael Jordon. They ask him gently to retire. He says no, insisting it does the game good to have him around.
They then try to run him out of the game, to the point of killing him. He doesn't die, but turns the tables.
