Review of Role Models (2008) by Monty H — 17 Dec 2012
Two salesman (Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott) must spend 150 hours of community service to mentor troubled kids. Of course things don't go smoothly. Funny movie that also tries to deliver a message. But I think the film's best asset is Paul Rudd, who plays Danny. This guy plays the cynical wise-ass to a T. He gets great support from Scott as his buddy, Elizabeth Banks as his girlfriend, Jane Lynch as the mentoring boss, and McLoving from Superbad. A pretty good comedy, but also very raunchy and profane.

Danny: Can I get a large black coffee?
Barista: A what?
Danny: Large black coffee.
Barista: Do you mean a venti?
Danny: No, I mean a large.
Barista: Venti is large.
Danny: No, venti is twenty. Large is large. In fact, tall is large and grande is Spanish for large. Venti is the only one that doesn't mean large. It's also the only one that's Italian. Congratulations, you're stupid in three languages.
Barista: A venti is a large coffee.
Danny: Really? Says who? Fellini? Do you accept lira or is it all euros now?
