Review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) by Milton A — 11 Apr 2018
Viewed only as a cash grab by Lucasfilm/Disney, this movie falls flat on almost every level, from it's uninspired and shallow characters, to its obvious story and yawn-worthy action scenes. If the robot in your movie gets the most praise, newslfash, that means you're characters are not good.
The only initially interesting character was rewritten and his arc edited out of the movie (played by Forest Whitaker). This film, being the second one by Disney also doubles down on destroying the lore behind it all, with random 'Rebels' saying things about the Force, even though they aren't force sensitive, have no real knowledge of what that is and basically have got nothing to do with the Force.
It's definitely not a must-see.
