Review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) by Davidtang1974 — 16 Dec 2016
Dreadfully disappointing. Spammy, amateurish acting; unwieldy structured plot; interminably drawn out sequences; tepid, inscrutable dialogue fit for a UN boardroom. Its a clock watcher. To further prevent one from immersing into fantasy, the oddly rendered CGI characters distracted the mind towards the glitchy, strangeness of their appearance, and movement.
Also bears the worst acting I think I've ever witnessed. The actor playing Cassian - could he emote, and commit to a scene more anaemically? The characters were so one dimensional, that I just didn't care about them or their mission.
Cue boredom. Given how great were the rest of the special effects, and set production that's saying something. Worst one of the lot. So glad it's over.
