Review of Rocky II (1979) by Alan C — 22 Nov 2009
Terrific sequel, many who have commented has said they enjoyed this film, but it falls quite a bit. I disagree, its stylish, continues the story right from where it left off and doesn't skip a beat.
Here we find ourselves watching Rocky struggle being a family man, with no direction, he is being told he can't fight and with no education is not qualified for anything but manual labor.
That's what I enjoyed about these films, they take Rocky and put him in the middle of a struggle that most anyone has been through.
I truly enjoyed everything about this film, from the acting to directing and underline meanings.
This time around Weathers characters has put himself out as a bad guy in order to bring Rocky out of fighting and it works, so we once again get a great score and great boxing matach as well.
4 out of 5 stars.
