Review of Rocky II (1979) by Stephen J — 22 Oct 2018
After the delightful first film, who could blame anyone for wanting more Rocky? This sequel works well as a companion piece to the original as we step into the next chapter of Rocky's life and see there are still challenges he must face.
Rocky II still has some of the grit of its predecessor, but the montage sequences are more elaborate and the fight scenes are more stylised as Sylvester Stallone's underdog creation begins to change from hero to icon.
