Solid swan song to the Rocky character that gives the character a proper send off, instead of the horrible "Rocky V". Sly Stallone gives some new layers to the character, acknowledging his age while still arguing he still has something left in the take (he does show up in great shape).

He gets nice support from the rest of the cast, notably Milo Ventimiglia as his estranged son. Behind the camera, Stallone writes and directs a proper send-off to the character that made him a star, exploring the lose the character has suffered (Talia Shire's absence as Adriana is put to good use), while also acknowledging his advanced age (the ending is actually nicely realistic).

Stallone also shows how Rocky's life has become stagnant, and only really starts to wake up when given a chance to be of need again. While to mostly repeats the beats of the original, it's still delivers some fun moments along with going Rocky a proper goodbye.

A must watch for fans of the franchise.
