An underdog boxer gets his million-to-one shot at the world heavyweight championship. A classic sport movie. Stallone really made a name for himself when he surprised everyone not only with his iconic performance as the Italian Stallion, whom he embodies perfectly, but also for his ability in writing such a great screenplay which is an old fashioned yet streetwise revamp of fairy tales.
Funnily enough, it has also been cited by boxers as being a pretty realistic portrayal as well. A clever iconic film.
