Review of RocknRolla (2008) by Eden R — 31 Jul 2010
Wow this is literally the first Guy Ritchie film that I really liked. Most of the time his movies are way too hard to understand and the plot is just all over the place.
There's definitely a lot going on in this movie, but it has a certain kind of feel for what it is. It's a super grimy film, but it has this "swag" to it that is just ridiculously cool. I haven't done a quarter of the stuff the people in this film did, but I sure as hell felt like trying them.
The performances were really done quite well. Gerard Butler did an amazing job and was actually quite funny. The actor who played Johnny Quid was super cool and the actor who played Archie was on point. The scenes with the two Russians and with handsome Rob were downright hilarious and amazing.
Overall, this movie was a good heist, whodunit, action comedy film. Highly recommended!
