Review of Rocket Science (2007) by Heather B — 20 Mar 2008
By-the-numbers Indie flick. It has the awkward character from a Todd Solondz movie, the omniscient monotone narrator straight out of Primer, the hot girl who isn't so hot but she's full of her self and totally Indie. It's got every cliche from every Indie flick I have ever seen from the seasonal markings to the static camera shots to the wack job family that might live down the street from Napoleon Dynamite.
Still, it works. Kinda. It has nothing to say we haven't already seen before but it's nicely done. I guess.
Truth be told. It's a 45 minute short that got expanded to a feature.
