Review of Rocket Science (2007) by Rob F — 05 Jan 2009
Hal Heffner is an awkward teen with a stuttering problem. He falls in love with a debate star, joins the debate team, and finds confidence in himself along this adventure.
Rocket Science it was not. This film is mildly amusing at best. There were a few semi entertaining moments and a cute cameo by Jonah Hill. Jeffery Blitz who wrote and directed this must be a huge Violent Femmes fan. Their music is all over this movie, making it tolerable, since they are one of my favorite bands.
This could have been a better movie, with some plot tweaks and actors who could pull it off. I could think of worse things to do, at least Rocket Science is a decent cure for boredom.
